Maybe replace some selfish player like Dwayne Wade, one-dimensational player like Antawn Jamison, and soft player, Chris Bosh. I told you, Americans are all cocky and full of words but during games, they cannot sustain their *********. Only their victory against Australia and Senegal i consider a good one. They beat Italy by 9, China by 31 but for me they can blow this team out by 50 pts. With their talent they can beat teams by 30-40 pts. But they disappoint me a lot. It looks that the 4 teams in the semis, they looks like the weakest. They loss to Greece, a team without an NBA Player. Tsk. . tsk. . how pity, they can't shot even FT . Greece shot 60% from the field against the defense of the Americans which their American idiot fans called the best in the world?? Oh, common, from the looks of it, they cannot defend at all. The Europeans make them looks like Toni kukoc defense, har. . har. . har. Next time bring your college guys, at least if they loss thats a better pill to swallow.

Blame it on the rest of the World!

Team USA did what they had to do in Japan. They did their very best and sadly, it was not good enough. When will America realize that their dominating days in international competition are simply over(more like 2 years ago)...

Lets just stop whining about it and move on. It serves us right for not respecting enough the international game. Hats off to teams like Greece, Spain, Argentina and all the other countries, they truely deserve credit...

My friend,Wey,your team is not so bad.Your team is in the top of the world.I am Greek and I am happy that we won you but it was not a surprise for us.Our players said on tv , one night before the game, that "We are going to win, we have seen how the great American team plays and we can do it".We have a great team,we are the european champions of 2005 and we have been european champions again in the past,European basketball is not so bad as you believe,it is just different.
It is ok,it is not something you should think all the time,ok you lose and what?It is just a game and there is noone who said that the States must be the winners always. There is a whole planet besides USA and sometimes I feel that you have no idea about that. You behave like you are alone!
Calm down and enjoy the finals of FIBA and good luck with Argentina!
Regards from Athens!

Just consider that except from NBA there is the European basket, which is different. There are players in the Greek team who refuse to play in the NBA, just because they prefer the European basket. Do not regard NBA as the only serious form of basket throughout the world, you are not alone. The Greek team plays as a team and they show their courage. They fight strongly and have a very good defense. This is why they bit you. Just learn to lose. Ah, and the pill is already better since you've won Argentina and you are 3d. That's better than your last place (you were 6th, weren't you???)

Regards from Evia(that's in Greece, just in case you do not know).

Basketball is a team sport it is not created to be played individually. Nba, Fiba and all the basketball leagues around the world it is all the same, the main objective is to score the most points, the difference lies on how you do it.

The american likes to do it by dunking, trash talking, one on one plays and doing magical moves w/c is all the same it results to 2 points. Look at Lebron James he thinks that he is the best player in the world and yet he can't do anything to help his team win (he is a media creation), unlike carmelo anthony he can rebound, shoot and defend and you can rely on him to lead his team to victory look at what he has done during the game against the italians and the germans w/o him the U.S might lost both games.

Team work is the essence of all team sports.

Hello dear!
Why to blame the players? They are excellent! What they lost why is that the Greeks were more of a team! They managed to score more than 100, which is rare for them! Thus, we have to look deeper, before we judge!
The USA team is the best, although they lost! USA can form dozens of equally good teams, while Greeks can not form a second (USA has a population of about 30 times Greece!)
What we have to do is to learn from our wins and loses!
Maybe, we have to think to send players, factors and couches for a couple of periods in other countries to get what are the new developments, although the Greeks depend on their extraordinary power of logic, their divine ancestry and true knowledge and we see this not only in games and sports but sciences, etc.

Guys! There is no "blame" to be handed around. These players are not yet a team! They've only played together this summer. Give them time to develop a team offense and defensive identity. They don't really know where each other is on the court yet. Some are even playing out of their normal positions. Once they get the time and rotations down they will be more than competitive.

talkin bout individual talent, USA has the best players. Even Greece, their top players will only be benchwarmers in the NBA. but basketball is a team sport and Greece was a better zone defense team and shooting team than USA. If USA had got some guys who could shoot, i think their would have won this game at least by 10 pts. anyways, a very dissipointing finish.

dude get real, can you not accept the fact that the rest of world has caught up. the rest of the world has toned their fundamentals to perfection and play unbelivable team ball. there is no one to blame for the us team being dissappointment, because 1. bronze shouldn't be a dissappointed 2. the best "team" won. our team was thrown together quickly and didn't have as much time to play with each other. the other teams have been playing with each other for years. I was suprised to see the US get 3rd, coach K did a brillant job coaching the guys and the players did an unbelievable job buying into his system. I'm looking forward to an exciting olympics in 2008.

I'm reading all this. some are right and some don,t have a clue. If there was something on the line for the NBA players they play different like the collage players use too. and it they really wanted a gold medal they will get it in the 2008 Olympic games and the best will show up...

The US has to realize that the world has caught up in basketball. I don't think the US can ever get the gold running away like the original Dream Team. You can't just throw a bunch of guys together like a pick up squad, no matter how good they are, let them practice for only a month, and expect them to beat teams that have been playing together forever.

I tend to agree with my buddy who says that we should just get one of the best NBA teams and just send the entire team to play. We'd be better off. We'd have to replace the non-Americans on the team, but it can be done.

I'm still going to root for them, but I sure do miss Magic, Jordan, Bird, and the rest of those guys.
