You're not happy with your life.
You expect too much from life.
You're not doing anything you want.
You live your life according to other people.
You've been hurt too many times.
You had a crappy childhood.
You don't have anyone to talk to.

In short, there are many reasons that can explain your moodiness.

As to what you should do about, here's my advice:

- Find something you love to do that's good for you. Obsess over it. Love it. Do it all the time. Just enjoy it.

- Write in a journal because it really is a wonderful outlet.

- Paint.

- Make a top 100 list of things you want to do before you die and cross one off the list each day (do one thing a day).

- Go on a road trip by yourself or with buddies.

- Listen to great music

- Work out.

- Have sex.

- Sleep.

- Find closeness to God (if you don't believe in Him, just get in tune with yourself)

- Do things that make adrenaline race through your veins (that makes you feel alive)

- Never sell yourself short. You do deserve greatness.

- Have fun

- Live your life according to your own standards. Don't let anyone else rule your life. Just do what you want. Say what you want. Live man.

I think you're easily bored at the things around you. You want to try something new but you can't... maybe because one of the things around you prevent you from doing that something new. It's like your freedom is suppressed therefore affecting your mood. Somehow you try to avoid the bad mood by turning your attention to something else, but then again, that tiny freedom-suppressant disturbs you and so your supposed happy mood turns sour. Do you worry about consequences that may arise from your actions? I suggest for you to experiment and see what it will make you feel... just don't kill, dude.

The way you were raised. Were you by any chance raised in a family of girls? Seeing a lot of female behavior growing up, might have an affect on you. If you weren't...then it's some other factor.

Do you have a history of mental illness in your family? Depression and manic/depressives can be genetic traits.
Is there something that you are hiding?
I wish you luck!
