That old proverb is no longer valid with the advent of the Internet and Yahoo answers in particular. I don't mind the dumb sounding questions that are asked in the spirit of fun but too many people think every mean, ugly thing that pops into their small brains makes them God's gift to wit. And the people who act like they don't know how to do a simple internet search are a bore. So false. The only dumb question is the one you shouldn't have asked.

Well, the straight fact is, when you ask a dumb question there are at least 30 other people who wanted but failed to ask the same thing.

100% true.
It is beneficial to do a bit of research on the topic to give yourself an amount of background, but you will rarely find the answers if you don't have the guts to ask the questions.

This website is a testament to the fact that the only stupid questions are the ones asked by stupid people. Namely 90%+ of the users here.

I think it is true. There is nothing wrong with asking a question about something you truly do not understand or have the answer to.

False.
I could say, "How do you fit all of that ice in the water bottle?"
Just because I asked it, doesn't mean that It's a rational question.
