Exercise 2: Character
Sit yourself down in a café or park bench: anywhere public where other people will be milling about, sitting down to eat, playing Frisbee, lounging on a beach and sipping daiquiris (for those of you going to resorts in Cancun for break!).
Choose an unsuspecting person, couple or family and begin taking notes. What do they physically look like—hair color and height, etc? What are they wearing? Think of the details from the description exercise and choose the most relevant features to describe. Brown hair may not be vital information—then again, maybe you suspect that it’s dyed hair, which tells us something about the person.
What are the people doing? How does the person move? Or sit in a chair? Or turn a page in a book? What sort of body language do they use with other people? What sort of relationship does that imply the people have with one another? Do you hear them talking? Eavesdrop and record bits of interesting conversation (or even boring bits, as that might be important for the character you are creating).
If you’re describing a single person, do they have a wife or husband at home? A lover? Several lovers? Or just a pet salamander? What kind of home do they have, anyway? Is it in town or in another state or country?
What I’m doing now, as I describe, is creating back-story: a general history and story for the person or people. The details of the people you choose to describe will connect with the back-story you create:
“The man has a crooked nose, so I’ll say he used to be a boxer. He’s older, though, and probably hasn’t fought in years.”
Based on what you see and describe, create a personality:
“I see that the man often points to things for the woman with him—points out to the sea, down the beach, up in the sky, back toward the boardwalk. He points rather quickly, and with emphasis; it’s like he’s back in the ring, punching and jabbing his opponents. This is how the man, Jasper ‘Steel-Jaw’ Jenkins, confronts new situations in his life, as if each had to first go a round with him in the ring before he trusted them.”
Then, you might create a front-story: what is the person—your character— doing right now?
“The woman is pulling Jasper toward the sea, but he is reluctant. So, I’ll say: His girlfriend, Olive, who loves him dearly but always remains a few safe feet from his trigger-happy arm and his jabbing finger, has brought him here where now he must confront the mammoth sea and his largest opponent yet—his own childhood fears of swimming!”
No need yet to make a plot, just a character. Let the person or the people inspire you, and let your imagination run wild.

if you are writing some fiction - do think about a plot to blow up oil/gas pipelines from Russia for supplying to China and thus putting China and US face to face on crisis.
India and Russia should be the villains while the Arabs should watch with great interest ( fuelling the crisis ). Israel should be the cat in the hot tin roof because it couldn't support US blindly to see Russia , China and India jumps on it.
