I was in Tower Two.
They told us not to worry and go back to work.
I emptied out my junk drawer into a bag, put on my sneakers and got out about 10 minutes before the 2nd plane hit our building.

I woke up on the couch and the tv was on CNN..I only heard the anchor say, " a plane flew into the WTC". They then said, "it appears to be an accident..." then the 2nd plane hit and I thought, "this is no accident!" At the same time I got chills because I was on top of the WTC 3 days before 9/11.

I was just getting up in the morning. Watching the local morning show. I saw the first plane hit. When I left for work, they were talking about the horrific "accident". By the time I got to the coffee shop at the corner, the second plane had hit. And everyone knew then that it was no accident. I was working in the financial district of Toronto. The news was on the intercom all morning. When the district was shut down for security, we were the only ones still there. Our boss wouldn't let us leave!!
I was also pregnant at this time, by mere weeks. And I couldn't help but feel sad at the world she would be exposed to.
Thank goodness nothing happened here. But I couldn't believe that jackass. 9/11 was an awful attack on so many innocent civilians. I won't ever forget it.

I was at work, where I was a hotel manager, and some of the guests and I, along with the front desk person, were watching it on the breakfast room TV. When I realized after the first plane that it wasn't an accident and then they starting talking about one headed toward Washington, I left to drive about a mile away to a place where I knew my husband was cutting someone's grass. His twin brother is in the Secret Service and was at work that day, and I needed to tell my husband what was going on so we could find out if his brother was safe. I can remember I had never felt so confused or incapable of coherent speech in my life. I couldn't put words together to form sentences and tell him what was happening. I just kept saying, "Something's wrong," and when he'd ask me what it was, I would reply, "I don't know." I finally told him, "I think we're being attacked. Planes are crashing into everything."

I was sleeping after having worked 3rd shift. I woke up, saw 8 recent phone calls from family & friends from 3 different states; and suspected something bad had happened. Stuned, I turned on the TV out of habit as I was calling my mom, and saw the play backs of the buildings falling, a plane in a field burning, and the Pentagon having been hit. I didn't know it was terrorist with planes at first. I thought the US was being bombed all over: Mom filled me in.

I was sitting on the couch watching the morning news, feeding my son (he was almost two) and had just yelled upstairs to let my daughters know that their bus would be there soon for school and to get a move on. The next thing I knew, the television was showing live footage of the second plain crashing as it was occurring. I screamed, "Holy ****!" and my husband and daughters ran downstairs to see what had happened. The girls started crying and my husband and I both said at the same time, "That couldn't have been an accident."

I was getting ready to take my daughter to school. We turned on the TV to see the weather report right after the first plane hit. So then we all were watching when the second plane hit.

I was recovering from surgery and did not have tv in the room, so I have never seen the images (and I Thank God for that). But there were people medivac-ed by helicopter to my hospital and I heard a bunch of Code Blue calls (I think that's the term) for the days I was there. Scary times.
