More likely the cell phone will be the laptop.

Using devices to tap into the huge data base of the Internet is the next wave. Like Ipod getting songs from Itunes, the interface is the computer, the next step is to bypass the comp and have direct access.

80% of a laptop's job is connectivity and word processing. The other 20% is gaming, image editing and personal use like cookbooks.

Our devices will combine the mix so we can be connected to each other AND connected to info available.

I use yahoo prepaid and a bluetooth headset to call international. It's pretty cool. I doubt you will have your laptop on at all times while your moving around to answer a call. Your battery will be dead in no time. You can integrate your cell to your laptop and dial out using the laptop and then use the speaker and mic of the laptop to call.

there are, a VOiP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) like Skype (http://www.skype.com/ ) can bring phone connectivity to your laptop (or any computer with Internet Connection), although it uses Internet Connection (WiFi/WiMAX, Cable, DSL, Modem), not Cellular Connection (GSM's GPRS/EDGE, CDMA)
