every pregnancy is dofferent . For some people labor seems to go on forever - for me, I began to dialate almost two months before my due date, then I was 3 weeks late - never had my water break and never lost my plug. I have known others that once they started dialating they went from 1 cm to delivery faster than you can say baby. It just depends- keep seeing your doctor- you should be seeing him / her at least once a week now- they will not let you go more than two weeks over. You just never know

A normal pregnancy is between 38 and 42 weeks. If you are 39 weeks and this is your first baby, chances are that your body will begin to get ready for labour within the next week or so. Don't worry about being overdue. Very rarely do pregnancies go past 42 week. If it looks as though this might happen, your doctor will most likely have you do a non-stress test and induce your labor.

My sister carried 42 weeks.I carried my 3 children until 38-40 weeks. You might just be slowly getting ready. If you have no signs by 40-41 weeks, Walk. Walk. Walk. Unless your Doctor has advised you not to. It will help you get your body ready for labor. Did the Doctor say the baby was positioned right? don't worry, just trust in your Doctor, and I hate to say it but Listen to your Mother, she's been through it.. Good Luck and Congrats!!!!

When my child was born I was 39 weeks. Two days before he was born I wasn't dialated, nor any mucus plug loss, and no signs of labor. And then out of the blue........wham....I was in labor and 24 hours later he was here. So don't think you could be over due. It happens sooooo fast sometimes. And he is my first child.

Actually anywhere from 38 to 42 weeks is considered full term. Some Drs do not worry too much until then. I had one single hard contraction in the middle of the night and that is what got me started. I had been to the Dr that day and he said nothing going on yet. I had no false labor or contractions until that one hard one.It can come on at a moments notice. Hope it goes well for you.

you can go into labor at any time, but if you are a couple days later than they said, that is okay as well, Your Dr should keep an eye on you, and if they think that you are not okay they will put you in the hospital. Relax and don't worry, you might not feel any signs until it is just that time... it will happen when that baby is ready for it to happen...Good Luck And Congratulations

I went through the same thing with both my kids. Don't worry & chill. The doctor will let you go to 41 weeks and then schedule an appointment for an induction. They give you medicine through an IV that puts you into labor. If you go before, believe me, you'll know. Good luck with the process, congrats, and God bless!

it maybe but its hard to tell, you could have the baby this week or yes u could be overdue. i had my child one week overdue. your doctor should be keeping an eye on u at this time. ask ur doctor what u should do if u do go over due date because usually they dont like u going past 42 weeks as there is lack of space for the baby. good luck and congratualtions

Pregnancy lasts up to 42 weeks. If you haven't delivered by then I am sure your doctor will induce. I know it seems like it will never end but I assure you it will be over before you know it.

hello,
i was 41 weeks when i had my baby. i didn't have any signs of going into labor on the tursday when i went to the doctors, and they said i would have to be induced. i didn't want that so me and my partner actually had sex that afternoon and he was born on friday morning. so thats somthing you could do if you didn't want to be overdue. but your baby will come when their ready. it could happen tomorrow, it sneaks up on you really. so don't worry yourself about it.
