The more countries that have nuclear weapons the more likely someone is to use one to start a war that could destroy the planet. To begin to reduce the threat posed by nuclear weapons one must first stop the growth and spread of the weapons technology.
Iran has openly stated its intentions to use nuclear weapons against Israel when they get them. I think its pretty clear that they should not be allowed to do this. You see, the choice is war now to avoid a nuclear confrontation or later as the result of one.
If Iran thinks they are dodging this one they are dead wrong because the whole world realizes where this is heading if nothing is done.

UN inspectors said today that there is no solid proof that Iran's Nuclear Process is Military. I am a christian man and I am not really on Iran's side. But let's be practical and honest now. Don't u think Iran's nuclear is another fear tactic bush is playing with us, so he can push the Neocons War Agenda? USA tried to prevent India's nuclear while doing it. USA failed to stop India and now they accepted the fact. Well, what about Pakistan? It is more fanatic and dangerous than Iran. Musharraf is a military dictator took over the previous democratic president. Musharraf did attack us verbally and has proven to harbor terrorists and assisted Bin Laden. Pakistan Carnot be trusted, so why US allowed them to have nuclear? USA is the only nation in history nuked another country-Japan. How can we trust our government not to do it again on another country? Iran is not a threat to the USA....thousands of miles away from us where we can intercept any attack. If Bush secures our fences around America, so we should not worry about other threats from Islamic Fundamentalists, Iran, Bin Laden, Syria or Palestinians. OH, now as Bush secured our fences, he must worry about Israel's security. So it is not America we should worry about...it is Israel. Neocons vowed to protect Israel by any means, and is the roots of the wars in the Middle East.

I understand what you are asking. If the US, Russia, China, Korea and Israel have nuclear capabilities, why should Bush have a problem with Iran having them also?
It is simply because he (Bush) and his administration are attempting to gain control of power in the middle east. They have got into Afghanistan and Iraq. They have bases in Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iraq and who knows where else. Iran seems to be next on their list and Syria will follow. It's a plan that has been in the works for a very long time.

Two reasons
1. The nuclear non proliferation treaty
2. The fact that their president and other of their leaders come out and say things like they want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth or death to America. That sort of talk does not make America think that they want it for energy.

Because Iran is masquerading their intentions as nuclear power but they really just want to make nuclear warheads.

while your question lacks 'a stand on ceremony' , i get the just of it.... to America and probably most of the world, Iran is coming up with nuclear arms to start a world war... they cannot be trusted to hold their word.
