I've had both sexes, and I've had good ones and bad ones. It just depends on the doctor. Some just don't have a very good bedside manner. At my ob/gyn's office now, there are 3 doctors and one nurse midwife, 2 men (docs) and 2 women. I get the luck of the draw when I deliver. In other words, I get who ever is on call at that time. Sucks I know, but I understand why they do it. So I'm going to make sure that I see every one of them, not just my regular ob/gyn, so that I'll feel comfortable with all of them when it comes time to deliver. I'm still gonna keep my fingers crossed that it's my regular doctor though, and he's been a practicing ob/gyn for over 25 years.

The office I went to while was pregnant has male and female doctors and I always prefered to go to the male doctors, but the day I went to the hospital at 21 weeks the female OB from that office was on-call and she examined me she had to tell me that I was losing my baby, and she started crying, and I decided after that I would prefer to see her. I have had problems with female doctors in the past with being uncaring so I was against them for years.

Gender doesnt make a good dr. With my 1st child I had a female ob/gyn and she misdiagnosed everything! With the 2nd, I had a male and he was so percise and caring. I guess I felt more comfortable with a male doing the exams; Im just not used to women being between my legs. hahaha.

I feel more comfortable with a female OBGYN. In my experience, I find that males in this field lack a certain empathy as they have not experienced and cannot experience some of the things they've studied. A female OBGYN is more likely to fully understand the issues their patients face. I am sure there are many awesome male OBGYNs, but I just find myself more at ease with females.

Female hands down.
She has the same parts, so she knows what it's like to have a baby, get a pelvic exam, breastfeed a baby, have menstrual cramps, etc..
As great as a man is, he doesn't go through the same things as a woman. He has no clue what it feels like, just what he's been told.
I had a male who I liked, but then he left the office and a woman took his place. I love her, and I'll never have another man again as long as I live. There's just no comparing the two in this situation.

ive always had a female until recently i am pregnant and have to see all the doctors in the group, just incase my original isn't available to deliver the baby and there are 3 women and 2 men and i actually really like the 2 men, almost more thn i like my original doctor....so i think it depends on the doctor, but as a whole i feel more comfortable with women becasue i feel like they can relate more to the problems a woman would have

I used to say female but right now I have a GREAT male doctor. Honestly, gender shouldn't be a major factor...

Gender doesn't matter to me so much as having a good doctor to talk to about health concerns. I go to a Family Nurse Practitioner for everything and she is great.
