I don't know the answer to your question, but I wanted to mention that when I was taking Tri Ortho Cyclen back in 2000 ( I don't think it was available to the public yet because I was participating in a clinical study for a birth control pill that was suppose to help with acne) I became very depressed and I have never been that way before. I still suffer from depression and take medicine for it. It took me a while, but I realized my depression started when I began taking the Tri Ortho Cyclen. You might want to ask your Dr. about this.

I work at a pharmacy- if this helps! You want to wait at least a month, if you're not going to use any protection at all. That gives the hormones enough time to get into your system. You really shouldn't go unprotected though- theres always that chance! You wouldn't beleive how many girls come into my store for prenatal vitamins after they had been on the pill for a while! Oh and by the way- the pill is called ORTHO TRI CYCLEN.

I was on that brand of pill, and that kind, like every other brand, you need to use a back-up method of protection for at very least the first month. After then, the pill alone will be effective, as long as you're in a monogamous relationship. The pill doesn't protect against any kind of STD's, so if you don't know your partner very well, or if your partner does have an STD, you will still need to use condoms.

Also, if you ever need to change brands, then you will need to do another month of back-up protection. If you are ever on antibiotics, they can make the pill be less effective.

Hope that helps!

I would wait until you are half way thru your second month on them. There is always the chance that the dose isn't strong enough and can actually cause you to ovulate. You will know if you have spotting in between periods.

If you haven't had any problems by the end of the sixth week you should be safe.

I think it's at least 7 days after you start the pills. Be careful if you have diarrhea or vomiting(like a stomach virus or something) or on antibiotics for any reason because the pills aren't as effective and you can get pregnant during these times. I used them for years.

You have to take it for at least 7 days until you can have sex. Seven FULL days!! I know, I took the same brand. Take it at the same time every day also. Try to associate it with something like brushing your teeth, or dinnertime. It will help you remember to take it. I forgot plenty of times, so take my word for it. But don't forget to protect against STD's. Especially since the new research about cervical cancer and unprotected sex. Have Fun, Safely!

Not sure about the time (but wait atleast 3-4 weeks to be safe).

I got pregnant on it... Nothing is 100%. If you are really worried about it you might want to use 2 types of contraception. Maybe a condom too...

I think the best and safest way to be sure hun is just call the doctor office and ask OK. If you can't speak with the doctor then ask the doctors staff/secretary. That way you here it from the horses mouth lol.

When it comes to birth control pills you have to be careful because if you have the flu and you can't keep anyting down, or you have the "runs" or you take antibiotics then you can almost guarentee that the pill has not been absorbed or is weakend.
