about 15 years ago the politicians discovered Womens Issues and to get their votes we have this incredible collection of 'don't do this' laws. best example is MAD (great idea to get drunks off the road !) but not enough votes in taking the real problems off the road so they targeted social drinkers and now are issueing statements against ALL drinking ( proabition is coming back ? ) and THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE YOU CAN"T BE PRO DRUNKEN DRIVER !!!! politics and mommies are a bad mix !

I'm halfway there, I think we're WAY too safety conscious. Stop outlawing stuff because its "Not safe". We take out chances. Tell you what, I took more of a risk driving to the airport than I am on a ten hour flight to London, yet I might as well pass through the gates naked. It's probably illegal to build a treehouse anymore, let alone let your kids in one. The FCC, fer chrissake. Now they want to regulate the internet. Maybe you want to pay attention to what your kids are doing instead of making eveyone else babysit.

Seatbelt laws, helmet laws smoking laws...Americans are beginning to look more & more like big cowards. Land of the free? Home of the brave? My @55.

Makes me want a nice stiff drink.

I'm a woman.

Actually I find that this has less to do with women's lib issues than with people finding an excuse to vent hatred. Back in the 80's (and I so very much remember those sad days when the fun 70s turned selfish and greedy 80s). This was called being politically correct, and still is actually. Problem is, people get shouted down by self rightous people who insist they are right. I take for example smoking. Now if all the things people say to and about smokers, and passed laws similar to that but instead of smoking you insert oh, say women or a racial type, how do these things sound?

I'd like to see a whole lot more common sense and lot less personal agendas at the expense of others.

Now this is general. As far as drinking and driving goes, it isn't safe, a car is a weapon in the wrong hands. I have to agree with the no drinking and driving. Sorry. Same goes with drugs prescription or not and driving.

Hey...I'm a mommy and I am not against a social drinker who drives as long as he is not drunk. There's a difference between mommys and crazy women who go overboard in everything they do ie...womens libbers etc.

I've never heard any statements against all drinking. Prohibition is not coming back. Chill, have a drink and forget it.

The funny thing is that people are more afraid of a fine than they are of dying in a car crash.
