If Mario takes 1 hour to paint a wall and Oscar takes 2 hours to paint the same wall, How long would they take if both of them paited the same wall?

It'll take about 3 hours and 45 minutes, because they usually forget to do the prep work, and Mario never buys enough paint.

oscar is half as fast

x=mario
1/2 x = oscar

x + 1/2x = mario + oscar

1.5x = 1hour (the total highest time for mario)
3/2x = 1
(2/3)(3/2x) =(2/3)(1)

x=2/3 hour or 40 minutes

Well Mario paints the wall in one our and Oscar helping him in the first hour so Oscars just overlapping the paint so it really took 1 hour to paint the wall

Your question is ambiguous and not well-worded. It is not clear if both of them paint the same wall at the same time. If this is so, Mario can finish one half in 30 minutes whereas Oscar may take one hour to finish the other half.

1hour. 1 hour is the shortest time. Mario did it in one hour. Even if Oscar put a swipe of paint on the wall he still considered painting it also.
