He should already be eating different fruits and veggies.Offer a variety of different healthy foods. Gerber fruit puffs are a great first finger food. They have banana, apple, cherry, corn and sweet potato flavored ones. They disolve in baby's mouth. My son is 2 now and he still loves them...he likes them better than Cheerios.

Make it a habit to eat your meals in front of your child. Children always like to grab anything and put in their mouth.

When it is meal time first before giving him his actual cerelac you try making a colourful kichidi with boiled carrot, peas and just give it to your child to play with it for 10-15 minutes. Then give him cerelac.

I did this to my daughter. It certainly messes up everything but it is worth it. Today she eats everything and anything. No fuss on any vegetables even kerala.

You will see gradually your child will develop a taste while playing with food.

Distract him while giving unwelcome food. Put a sticker on his palm / hand and let him unpeel it or switch on a cartoon on TV. I know many people discourage this habit, but for a harried parent, this is a fool proof trick.
