Does anyone have some ideas for good restaurants, bars and/or nightclubs around that hotel that would be good for 30 yr olds?

(as the guy pointed out below-- I got the Hyatt's confused-- sorry bout that! my information below still stands-- but you are going to have to take a cab when you head out-- there isn't too much by the Tech Center)

Bars/Club recommendations are very subjective, but here are a few of the ones I enjoy, and the reasons why I like them.

You will be staying only about three or so blocks froma place called Larimer Square (at 15th street and Larimer) It is a neat street of shops, resturants, and, I believe, a few clubs. The bar I like in that area of town is called the LIME. It is simple, trendy, has great maragritas (get a frozen regular one, after two you won't be able to stand) and the atmosphere and people is that of local professionals. Most people are in their twenties and thirties.

The Purple Martini that someone else suggested has closed-- so don't search for it. Near where "Purple" used to stand is a Jazz Bar called Sambuca-- another great establishment with a good crowd.

Slightly out of downtown are two of my favorite bars. You will need to take a cab, but it should not cost you more than eight dollars to get there-- those bars are the FUNKY BUDDAH (at 8th and Lincoln) which has a great rooftop patio and decent drinks. As for a laid back bar try the THIN MAN (at 17th and Race) which is in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of the city. That bar is my favorite. Has a cheers feel if you go.

All the bars have great patios so you can take advantage of the (hopefully) warm weather of Devner.

Restruants....
Some of my favorites.... from least expensive to most..
for a cheap eat on the go-- try Noodles N Company-- a small chain but worth it... name says what they serve.Illegal Pete's has the BEST Burritos.. also a great quick meal and cold drink. The ones nearest you will be on the 16th Street Mall in Denver.

The Thin Man above has a coffee house connected to it-- it is called St. Marks-- if you want coffee or a bagel or the like

My Brother's Bar (on 15th and Platte-- you will need a cab) is great for burgers and a beer-- great patio too.

The Lime mentioned above is also a resturant.

Vesta-- of which I am not sure of the exact address-- but is well known is American food.. but very good American food.

Hapa in Cherry Creek (cab) is American Sushi-- decent place..

Le Central (one of my favorite resturants on the planet) is French food -- even if you don't like French-- you can find something here... they have great dinner and a great Sunday Brunch.

This resturant is far-- but worth it-- will cost you about 15 for a cab-- The Cherry Tomato in the Park Hill Neighborhood. It is at 23rd and Dexter

As for clubs-- I hesitate to give a recommendation-- each person likes different things... Try the bar at the JET HOTEL for a lounge, Vinyl is a popular club-- I am a lounge person, not a club person...

My suggestion if you don't trust me and dont want to travel so far-- try my suggestions that are close-- then venture further out.

hope this helps-- it s a great city-- I lived there for nine years, and if it was not for graduate school right now, I'd be moving back!

Small problem with the last answer. Hyatt Tech Center, not Hyatt Downtown.

The tech center is a bunch of office buildings in a ritzy suburban area. Pretty sterile. For interesting stuff for a 30 year old, you would do well to take a cab downtown, and use some of the recommendations above. It's about 15 miles.

There are some fancy restaurants in and near the tech center to feed the people with money who live/work in the area. I've been to a few, nothing stands out. There must be bars, but I don't know any. It's not a big nightlife area.

If you gotta stay in the tech center area during the evenings, your hotel will have some decent ideas. They answer that question many times every day.

The memorable part of your trip would be to stay an extra day or a weekend and head for the mountains. Dillon Reservoir (srrounded by mountains) is easy to get to for a short day trip. Drive over Loveland Pass, over 12,000 feet high. If you can get two days head for Rocky Mountain National Park.
