I shall put specific emphasis over the word ' most'. Most of the people end up in a profession they do not like because the choice of the profession they adopt is not their own rather it is of the parents/guardians. By the time they realise this fact it was too late to the change the option. Few people are able to change their profession at a later stage of family and social responsibilities. Moreover, they who are fortunate enough to chose or change their profession of their own interest do their best in that field. It is a fact that when one is busy in a profession of ones own interest he/she does not feel exhausted doing the work even over time. This could be probably one of the reasons for good achievements in that field.

This is very common now these days. We should choose profession that we like the best. Our knowledge and skill should be put into practice though we may not earn as much as others do. Teachers, scientists, manual workers, defence personnel and engineers help a nation to move and achieve. But they should have entered the profession by choice but not by pressure. Nowadays many people select the jobs that make them rich soon. The urge for earning money quickly makes them soon to lose enthusiasm in their profession and feel gloomy. They may earn money but lack professional happiness.

It all depends on the situation and needs. At the present scenario, people cannot be choosy about their profession.Hence they have to clung on to some profession and statr earning to make the both ends to meet and to take care of dependents. But any profession which is ethical ,honest, and not doing harm to others ,there is nothing wrong in entering in to the same.

Because there is rarely anything people like once they have do the same thing day in and day out. Humans prefer change in what they do and in a career or profession there is very little that changes at a broader level.

Well... in my case I ended up dealing with something I have always avoided--anything to do with finance, accounting, or just numbers. I SUCK at math, and as a secretary had always avoided pursuing any position for a CFO, controller or any other executive in a finance capacity. However, I'm now a private auditor. I do nothing BUT look at numbers all day long. I happen to be very good at it. I know more than any CPA about various taxes and their exemptions. Go figure!

So, if you're asking about avoiding jobs having to do with things you don't like, don't be so hasty. I at least don't HATE my job, and I get a sense of satisfaction and evil glint of glee being able to internally point at people and say, "You are so &#%^$# STUPID! Thanks for the big commission." ;)
