I currently have a palmone lifedrive with a palm os 5 operating system. In order to get to my Yahoo! Mail, I have to go through the Yahoo Website. Is there a way to access my Yahoo! Mail without a middleman, that is, the Internet Browser to Yahoo!? I know there's a way to program VersaMail (people with PalmOne know what I'm talking about) to get email. How do I program it with Yahoo! mail? Thanks!! =]

In order to "pull" your email you need a pop server. Yahoo disabled their "pop" mechanism for new email users a few years ago so now you cannot get pop service for free Yahoo users. If you buy their premium mail service then you can utilize the pop mail method and pull it to your Palm Pilot.

Otherwise it simply won't work. Trust me.

If you use Yahoo! mail (as oppose to the brandable Yahoo! e-mail that comes with AT&T DSL, as an example), you will have to upgrade to Yahoo Premium service to get access to your e-mail using an e-mail client for your Palm. VersaMail comes with newer Palm models (for the past couple of years). However, I much prefer SnapperMail:

It is a much more powerful, yet eas-to-use e-mail client than VersaMail.

I used Snappermail with Tungsten C and LifeDrive. It works great!

If you have a DSL provider, it may already be using Yahoo! as its content and e-mail provider, so you can avoid paying the extra charge for Yahoo! e-mail that you can get on your Palm.

You are only able to use the Yahoo premium mail on your LifeDrive. the free yahoo email wont work on your palm as it has to be a POP account.
