Maybe my husband should see this LOL. Anyway, don't gasp and suddenly grab the "oh ****" handles. Have her practice in empty parking lots and backroads for a little while first. Then encourage her to drive to quick errands. From there, things will get quickly easier. Most people have trouble with parallel parking, so have her practice that a lot. Finally, remind her to drive defensively, not aggressively. Many accidents happen because people expect others to magically/suddenly get out of the way.

First of all, be a gentleman. Be soft because women like that. If your wife do not know certain things in the car, do not ever be bossy ang act as a driving hero or even insult her. Be nice.

That's crazy. You should never have stayed 30 yrs with that man. My wife was raised in 1940's Europe. Her parents abused her verbally and physically. When we got married, neither set of parents approved. We were both 25 yrs old, same race, same religion, both had masters degrees, both had good jobs. Most parents would have been delighted. My parents have not spoken to us since the wedding, 45YEARS AGO. Her parents yelled at us and fought at us till the day they died. Our siblings approved and are a part of our lives. We were just united together against their disapproval. If her parents were over to our house and started in on us, we told them to leave. At their house, we just got up and left, one time during Thanksgiving Dinner. The solution was to be united in our stand. We have been very happy together, still love each other very much. And she still makes me laugh. If we had it to do all over again, we would do it all over again. If you can be united together then you can make it work. If not, then leave him now.

Bring her to a BIG empty parking lot. Do not be too controlling or bossy. If she messes up there is really not much to crash into.

Let her feel the car herself. How did you learn with your parents.

You know it was very annoying when parents were toooo bossy. We had to figure somethings out for ourselves. Just guide her.

Maybe use a different TONE of voice. That is very important.

Give her all lessons before going for driving lesson. And of course have a prolonged sex and nice sleep just before the driving lesson.

First, you get extra insurance. Next, get a full set of football players' pads. Next, take a valium. Next, say a LOOOOONG prayer. Rots o' ruck, GI.
