you know, i thought of the same thing as i was growing up.

i never have been in a situation where i was under peer pressure. i guess they assume alot of kids around that age gets influence very easily. that i can understand. but they also make it sound like kids that age are also insecure.

i don't ever recall having anybody ask if i want a smoke and say "what? everybody is doing it." same with drugs. realistically, if they offer and you say no....technically it's more for them. duh!

Peer pressure has always been there.Generally,it starts during middle school as it can start a bit earlier or a bit older. It starts mostly in middle school because that is when the mind starts wondering. You become more curious about your body and its functions and trying new things as well as wanting to be an adult. You should definately not be annoyed by the educated you are given about it.Some schools dont provide that. They are teaching you to be strong and stand up to it not to give in to it like some dont. Some parents dont speak about peer pressure with their children so therefore their children give into it.Stand your ground and stand for what you believe in strictly.Do not let anyone tell you that you have to try or do something. There will be plenty of time to try adult things when you are actually an adult.Good luck.

In 7th there is a lot of pressure. Drinking, weed, and sex. Those were the three big things at my school. I drank, and smoked weed a little. I didn't die or anything like that. But the kids I smoke and drank with do it very often now, we are freshman. Sex is a real big thing in 7th grade. Dating will get a little more serious, and more people become more fascinated with sex, and have sexual feelings. Just try not to fall into bad habits. If you are going to cave into peer pressure do it responsibly....ex. Know when enough is enough.

peer pressure has been around for ages. and it doesn't just suddenly start. even preschoolers do it too. like 3 and 4 year olds. ever had a friend say, "come on, let's do it. i'll let you spend the night if you come with me." or something stupid like that. that is peer pressure. it's all about will power and knowing when to say no, that's all.

Sweet heart....welcome to the wonderful land of teen. I hope you enjoy our most popular attraction...its called peer pressure....you wont get rid of it until you don't have ne immature friends.....jk. Hun....there is always gonna be peer pressure in your life until you don't comunicate with ne thing or ne one. If you watch tv there is pressure to be skinny and if you go to school there is pressure to do drugs and if you hang out with your friends there is pressure to pick on ppl that dont deserve it. Dont listen to those immature ppl that think they are betta then everyone else. Don't hang with the ppl who think the world revolves around them. Be yourself and do what you wanna do. Just wait till high school it gets alot worse. I'm sorry you feel this way and i hope you remember to not give into hurting other ppl just cause they are different. Don't do what your friends are doing just cause you feel its what the cool kids are doing. I hope you be yourself and have mental and physical streangth in ne thing and every thing you do. Your a smart and sweet girl and you know whats right and wrong. good luck...HUGS

They have so many programs about it to try to get kids to not make bad decisions based on what their so-called friends are doing, like smoking, drinking, having sex, sneaking out at night, using drugs, which can all have life-altering concequenses.

peer pressusre ratses its head around your age....you feel what your friends think of you is more important than most other things, like wearing those extra tight jeans you hate just to please your friends, and so that they don`t consider you a weirdo....basically, it s stupid............
