does the seller have to make good ie/ if they are taking an electric fire and surround do they have to repair any holes in the walls and replaster etc.

If you live in the UK you will have filled in a Sellers Property Information Form in which the buyer "takes the property in its present physical condition". If changes have been made since they viewed they may have the basis for a claim. Best plan is to make good the damage before you move.

house sales in England are on a view basic term,so light switch's fire places bath and wash basin's, kitchen cupboard's and sinks central heating,towel rail's stair rail's are all part of the sale, fixed flooring,garden plant's when the seller's moves out they are en tilted to take away picture's mirror's and light shades, sell carpets washing machines dryer's for extra to the buyer or any one else, if by filling a small hole with a filler is allowed, only make good a surround from a fire place so some one could take out a fire and replace with card screw to the wall and paint

If you live in the States, and you are selling, everything that is screwed down or nailed in, must stay with the house.
