I know the Spirit of the Owl.

Many think the Owl is an omen of death or bad luck, but the Spirit of the Owl is not unkind ... Owl brings wisdom and truth out of the darkness, through which only she can see.

The darkness of night is also comparable to the darkness within each of us that is our subconscious, which is the doorway to the Spirit World ... you may have some psychic ability and Owl is trying to communicate, to show you the way to a higher good. You will learn something new. - It's a sign of a Good Blessing!

There are many superstitions about owls, these are a few:

-Many people believe that an owl crying can foretell death coming. Some say which ever way the owl is facing when it cries out tells WHO will die.

- Owls in the daytime are bad luck, and a barn owl hooting at midnight means a loved one will die.

-The owl is a symbol of guidance and help by the Inuit’s of Greenland, while the people of Indonesia saw them as wise beings using the owl’s different calls to determine whether to travel or not.

This is the only thing I have:

"The sound of a screech owl is an omen of sickness and even death. If a person is already sick and hears an owl hoot, death will shortly follow".

You walked right into this..."your are fortunate as you survived an owl fly over and lived to tell of it without any boo boo on your head or shoulders. I am not a jerk and not sarcastic. This is an honest guess.

I have heard that the owl is a symbol of ill fortune ahead of you, rather like an omen.

I have also heard that many proclaimed UFO abductees have nightmares, obviously due to trauma, but all or most of them feature an owl prominently.

In Indian folklore it means someone in your household will die. But they will be carried over to the Great Spirit. Not a completely bad Omen

I don't know what the omen is, but I had one fly over me while I was dirving. Man, I didn't realize those suckers were THAT big. He coevered my windshield and I was driving a Tahoe. I hope it was a good omen.
