NYC is the greatest city in the world, and Cali is so different. But I believe it is an experience you will enjoy. You just have to get used to it. There are much worse places to live, believe me. A great thing about living in LA is that there are so many weekend destinations within a few hours drive. There's a ton of stuff to do. You'll miss NYC, definitely, but you can always move back if you don't like LA. Best of luck to you both. Have fun with the earthquakes!

I am a Californian, and I see people come from all over the USA and from all over the world wanting to make it big in movies. Very few of them actually do achieve their dreams. I'd recommend starting in stage plays in New York, since it's so close. One can move to California later when he has some experience nearer home.

Oh boy you are in for a long haul and some disappointments. Well cali is more for the screen, NY is better for stage, but still.... oh boy, its not going to be easy for you hon. I'm wishing you lots of luck.

Both cities are tough. He can do as well or just as badly in California as he would in NYC. I suggest he try his hand at acting frist, he may get to be an extra on Law & Order.

HAHAHAHA, when I was a teenager I lived in hollywood. (live east of l.a.. now.) but back then it was great. I got all kinds of girls who were in hollywood to make it big, I got to spend time with them right before they decided they had to sell their bodies to make ends meet. I'm not gay or anything but I bet there are alot of guys that would like to spend some of that time with your boyfriend before he gets that desperate.

nothing. things are too expensive down there and a lot of needless killings everyday near long beach. i think that california has too much publicity when really there is nothing there for people who dont already have a land or house established there. good luck though.
