He is a dinosaur. In the SNES version Super Mario World, the entire story takes place in Dinosaur Land.

I think that question is the stupiest I heard, BUT... Yoshi is a dinosaur but I don't know if is male or female. Yoshi carries Mario in the game like Mario World, etc

Yoshi is a Tralmafadorian come back in time from his home planet to wreak destruction and disease on the human race whilst enslaving any survivors. His veins course with the tears of unicorns and he breathes the stolen breath of small children. That or he's probably a dinosaur

Yoshi is a type of Dinosaur
what makes him different from regular dinosaurs is that he has fingers and shoes
he was also designed with a saddle on his back so mario could ride on him
his stomach is also like a bottomless pit

A dinosuar Dragon mix. The dinosaur part is his outward appearance and scaley back. The Dragon appearence is his power to suck in and in some games blow fire.
