I quit work and moved my ill mother in with me to take care of her before she went into a nursing home.I have been 7 months trying to get a job, but haven't had any luck since it has been about 2 yrs since i have had a public job.

Go to a temp agency. Actually, go to several. Sign up, take their tests and call them every day to let them know you are available.

Bless you for taking care of your mother.
If you could change any part of your life and live your dream life, what would you change first? Think about this for a couple of days, really burn it into your mind.
Once you can clearly see yourself in your new life, do what it takes to make it happen.
If you fall short remember Thomas Edison when he was asked about failing 500 times. His reply was that he had not failed, he had succeeded in finding 500 ways in which you can not build a light bulb.

Don't look for any job that is in any particular field. right now, all you really want to do is meet your expenses and care for your mom.
Look for employment anywhere and everywhere. Many times the nursing home where your mom is at may be hiring and be as flexible as possible to working various types of hours, until you settle in, then you could ask for more convenient hours to satisfy your needs.

Apply to area schools. They always need temps to fill in. Tere is a school bus driver shortage check in your area for requirements neither needs any college.
