Yes the space could be the distance between ones ears,,what appears to be a physical world in the macro world is not real in the micro world : there atoms behave as waves and waves behave as atoms and time doesnt exist anymore ,, Maybe the universe exists only in our complex minds and nothing is real except when we look at it ..what we see is only coded information , we are the matrix reloaded and we need the blue pill to see behind the screen

Some people consider the "micro" world to be a "space" of sorts (like outer space, there is an "inner space" too).
They did make a reference to the inner body as such when they did the old 1966 movie "The Fantastic Voyage" (where a surgical team is miniaturized and inserted into a dying man in order to save him).
