I live in a court. It's ran by an assocation. The b*tch (president) has never acted as a mediator. She is determined to choose sides. And there's nothing the police can do since it's private property. There are usually three 16 yr olds with multiple basketballs pounding on the asphalt in front of my house. I've seen them in my driveway, blocking it multiple times. They have hit both my vehicles several times. This usually persists for an entire afternoon every other day. This horrible noise can be heard throughout my entire house; it's like a jackhammer. The teenager's father thinks it's great. He actually partakes in the festivities and does so with some of the older guys in the court. It's really pissing me off. I'm being singled out. Should I just up and move? It seems like the only solution. Just because one asshole kid and his friends want to harass me, it's going to cause all this upheavel. GAHHH!

LOL. I've talked to them already. It's not like I'm going to live in Detroit anyway. So, I don't have to worry about the crime part. Ha.

You gotta play their game and have a real sense of humor about this -- play really annoying music in your garage (polka music or very girly music like fairytle "la lalala laa lalaa" or Barney songs) pointed right to where they play their games. Then record yourself so that in a break ot the music they hear "nice shot fairy" or "wow, big guy, can't handle a public game on a real court, let's play like grade schoolers on the sidewalk..." then have the tape blast to "Macho macho man...."

The more you laugh at how lame they are being, and encourage friends to come over and also make fun of them, the more they will be inclined to just go elsewhere -- put a huge poster on your garage door saying "Fairies shooting hoops -- free for public ridicule" and since this is all on your property there is nothing they can do but leave... have fun with it man!

In a few years, after they start college and go to work, they won't be doing that on a regular basis anymore.

Either park the cars elsewhere or put a car cover over your cars if they are parked there on those 3 or 4 afternoons when they do play outside.

If you can't get along with your neighbors you should move to a quieter neighborhood if you can afford to do so. Actually, you live in the safest kind of neighborhood -- the kind with people home during the day. Here in the city, most of my neighbors are retired and older and come and go without speaking to one another & very few young families with children -- they can't afford to buy a home here. Some new gated communities in the East Bay there is no one on the street during the day because everyone is out working to pay for the house.

Actually, there will always be something about neighbors (even quiet ones) that can aggravate a person. So if you don't like people, best to move into the country where no one lives nearby.

talk in very formal words. you need to be socially splendid to inform her what you do in the privateness of your homestead is none of her problem. If that would not artwork flat out tell her to concepts her own agency. do no longer inspire her via being pleasant inclusive of her. you're both her pal and her nosiness is area of the deal or she's a nosy busybody you do not take care of in any respect. Then if all else fails, the before reported kick ought to nicely be your basically right wager.

First off, get a car alarm that sounds after taking a good hit...will this possibly be annoying...sure, but it also might make them stop hitting your car. Second, if their dribbling right in front of your house, try spreading loose gravel or something right in front so it will make it a pain in the *** for them to dribble on, or (i know this doesnt make sense b/c u have to drive over it too) u should throw a few rusty nails of something on it so they think twice before doing it again. Or my personal favorite...hide in a window and pick them off w/ a b.b. gun every once in awhile

I think there IS something the police can do!
Call them and see. Disturbing the peace is what it is, and there are other neighbors in your court who feel the same as you. Visit them and take a poll.

The basketball goal should not be in the culdesac, it should be in THEIR own back yard and nowhere else.

That is disturbing the peace and trespassing.
TALK to the neighbors around the culdesac and then talk to the police.

Have you tried talking to them in a nice manner? Maybe if you had they would be nicer about the whole thing. It sure can't hurt. Better than having to move I would think.

Either get an old beater car that you don't care about and wear ear plugs or move. Moving is probably simpler, but check the new neighbors out before you move.

You have two choices. You can go to war with them, or move to a better neighborhood populated with civilized people. It is more expensive to live away from the underclass, but its worth every penny, trust me on this.

I'd have to say as bad as you may hate it; the kids are with the Parents and not doping drugs, raping or the like.

I'd just sell and get out of there to a more suitable (for you) environment.

Folks like that will only try to irritate you more.
They get high on making you mad.
Better off to move then go to jail over something stupid.
