Puerto Rico became a US territory, along with Guam after the Spanish-American War. Basically, Puerto Ricans are American citizens and have the same rights as any state in America, except they dont pay federal taxes as far as I know.

Of course it is! Is an Island ,like Britain , A colony also, but we have our own language, culture, and natural resourses, some of us have been ranting, gfighthing to get independence, but it sems the U.S.A. is bent on keeping the EXPERIMENTS!
