You don’t have any expansion for COMPUTER. It is made with the word COMPUTE as it is a device which is used to compute. And it is a device which is used for computing. Initial days, we used to computer for mostly mathematical calculations. Not for watching movies, creating graphics, games and all. So the device happened to get the name as COMPUTER rather than something like GAMER, PAINTER, etc.
