I am sick and tired of morons talking loud, very loud in places where I go to relax, read a book, get a cup of coffee, etc... Do you think something should be done about it?

I have heard so many personal stories of people that it just makes me think, "what the hell are they doing exposing their private lives to strangers?!" Don't they respect themselves, people around them, and people they are on the phone with?
One time there was a man who came out of his car (as soon as he started his personal conversation), talked about his mother who had cancer, talked about her soon to come death and funeral, her life insurance and how much he will get from it, and as soon as he was done, he got into his car and left. I thought that he was the worse idiot I ever saw in my life...He exposed so much of his and his mother's personal life it was sickening! Total lack of common sense!

No. NO MORE LAWS!
I have, and use a cellphone and messaging pager as part of my job, for 24 hour availability. I am on it constantly. I also make it a priority NOT to make my conversations disruptive to your life. I keep it on vibrate, turn it off in church, don't use it in the grocery store, and excuse my self quietly from restaurants, etc. when I must take a call. It's not the phone, it's the ignorant, rude Carbon based life form holding it.
Of course if you are advocating a law banning loud obnoxious people, I might listen!

We used to cherish privacy to the extent that we would not dare talk on the phone if anyone were withing earshot.
Now everyones' Blah, blah, blah. everywhere! I hear people talking in the store, while looking right through me, and I'm like saying, what, who, me? Oh, sorry.
it's arrogant, and rude. It should be curtailed,if not outlawed.
The conversations I overhear certainly are not emergencies!
The young people I see i the mall are just treating their new phones like toys, calling all their friends and just saying Hi, whatchadoing, and then texting and all. I was in front of two in the mall, they were walking side by side, and talking to each other . . . . . . . . on the phone!
What for???

If it bothers you then you must take action. Ask the person to hold it down or take it outside.
Oh wait, you want a LAW to fix your problem right? Well since this is already covered by the law, a new law would mean nothing.
Call the police and complain about the guy "disburbing the peace".

Personally, I don't really care if they are talking. If it was two people having an in person conversation would you care or listen in? It's just the volume that really bothers you really if you think about it. Some people talk at that volume in face to face conversations too.
I agree with the answerer who says we don't need any more laws.

Stupid people, just want to feel important, they have no respect for themselves or the people they are talking to, letting everyone know their business. I go somewhere private to make a call and unless it's important, don't even answer if I'm in public. Hey, let's all carry squirt guns and shoot those morons who disrupt our peace and quiet! It keeps cats off of the furniture!

YES! I think it should be illegal to be that annoying to other people. I NEVER talk on my phone in public unless absolutely necessary. And I NEVER carry on long boring personal phone calls so that everyone and their brother can hear about my personal life. Very annoying when people do that.

I think cell phones should be band in public places and that hands on devices should be made law when a person is driving.

Yes a ticket should be issued. Also for using your cell phone in a public restroom, or theater, etc.

We already have enough laws. I would rather have the police deal with important issues. If someone has bad manners, just ask them to keep it down.
