It depends on how much you want to spend. Inexpensive: Clinique 7 day scrub and it's non-abrasive (especially for a scrub). It works great. For a little more money, I'd recommend something without beads or things you can feel. They make microscopic tears in the skin which will make you look older over time. Leave that scrub stuff for your feet. Use a product with an exfoliating enzyme like Dermalogia's Daily MicroExfoliant or Aveda's Exfoliant. I definitely suggest something that says it can be used everyday because it's gentle to the skin.
Hope that helps, you'll notice such a difference in your skin just by exfoliating.
Also, I have prescriptives foundation for light coverage and MAC studio tech for more coverage. I shopped for foundation for MONTHS. The prescriptives is a custom blend that I love and the MAC had the shade closest to my skin tone without being off by an undertone or two. MAC was suggested by a few makeup artist when I had a dance audition and needed more coverage.

For exfoliation, an alpha hydroxy acid lotion is great and gentle if you only use it a few times a week. More than that could irritate your skin. For something more intense you could use a manual scrub like St. Ives but most people don't need that unless they have dry, flaky skin. Use plenty of moisturizer afterwards because some of the moisture will have been removed from your skin. I've tried just about every type of foundation out there and my favorite is mineral foundation, specifically Bare Minerals. It's a powder but not dry at all and gives your skin a glow. You can build the coverage by blending more powder into the skin and it still looks very natural.

Stay away from the St. Ives crap; all it is is crushed walnut shells, which is very irritating to your skin. Find a product that has "beads" or "microbeads" in it. It's not necessary to sandpaper your face with St. Ives in order to exfoliate.
For foundation, try the MAC line. The Studio Fix is a powder foundation, but the coverage is the bomb! Keep in mind that foundation should merely even out your skin tone; it shouldn't be used like spackling.
*No offense, but I see so many women of all ages do just that*

ok, you want to stop the aging process before it even begins, so when looking for products to use, make sure they include some form of Retin-A. A great brand to use is called Dr.Hauschka and N.V. Perricone. Perricone is expensive, but it works, especially if your skin already shows signs of aging. Mineral makeups such as bare minerals are great for the skin, but for the best coverage, then use the brand Make-Up-Forever, from Sephora, it sounds weird but the foundation has a silicone based which makes it go on like a smoother second skin. Good Luck.

I am 29 and I use Neutrogena acne kit, it has a cleanser with exfoliating beads in it. Or try their microdermabrasion kit. I don't use foundation but I invested in Sheer Cover powder and it has a very good coverage and makes your skin look airbrushed.

Try the Origins line, you can try Macy's or Bloomingdales. It's called Friction. Natural and gentle. Also, foundation-try the philosophy or bare minerals line. It provides great coverage and looks natural.

I use avon the one in the orange container to do the "holy trinity". Cleanse, tone and moisturize. Keep in mind make up is like art. Your face is the canvas. You need a smooth clean canvas to achieve great results. Also do MAC studio tech and studio fix right over it. I always get compliments and am told my make-up looks flawless. I use concealer first, but thats if you have blemishes.

My favorite exfoliator is St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub. However, if you have sensitive skin, I'd stay away from this product; it's pretty harsh.

As a cheaper option, I like St.Ives Apricot Scrub... it smells good and feels like it's doing something.
Just don't over exfoliate, especially if you have sensitive skin!
