what we hear now is the ghost songs of the 70's. grunge was there for a while but media killed it with cobain . EVERYBODY is after boobs and butts aka Rn'B. ROCK AND ROLL IS DEAD -Jim Morrison said it before. he also asked who killed it? its you ! its you cos you disagree with me and think that pussycat dolls and james blunt and robbie williams are musicains ! they are not ! they are known cos they are on your tv screen and you never had a chance to listen to 70's songs ! so rock and roll is dead and is never gonna be back again. real music is dead !

Rock is still alive and well - rock music of the 60s and 70s (some early 80s) that is .... plenty of people still love it and listen to it - thank god! The music out there today is mostly commercial !&$#@%(#$!! (thanks to MTV.)

I kinda agree. Rock N' Roll is almost dead. But as AC/DC might say, you can't stop rock n' roll. There are still some bands around keeping Rock N' Roll alive, like Iron Maiden, Velvet Revolver, Metallica and Tool. I even heard that The Who and The Misfits were going to release some works too. And hopefully Rock Star:Supernova will get more people into the real rock n' roll world. So, LONG LIVE ROCK N' ROLL.

I agree, but it is going to make a HUGE comeback in the next 5 years I strongly believe. Right now it is completely dead. COMPLETELY !!!! All rappers are doing is selling sex. What's on the tv is not music. And the media did kill grunge. There are a couple o.k rock bands out now, but only a couple. The raconteurs, Jet, Foo Fighters, and maybe a few others. But for the most part I agree with you.

OK, ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO SAY ROCK IS DEAD,WHY ARE 80'S HEAVY METAL BANDS BRINGING OUT NEW CD'S, GOING ON TOUR, AND SELLING OUT THE CONCERTS?WHY ARE BANDS LIKE THE ROLLING STONES STILL SELLING THOUSANDS OF CD'S?NOT TO MENTION KISS, OZZY, FOREIGNER, JOURNEY, MOTLEY CRUE, POISON, JUDAS PREIST, WASP,TO NAME A FEW.I JUST SAW A COMMERCAIL PROMOTING A CONCERT WITH FOREIGNER, RICK SPRINGFIELD, SCANDAL, AND I THINK ANOTHER ROCK BAND.IN THE EARLY 80'S, OZZY RELEASED A SONG CALLED "YOU CAN'T KILL ROCK N ROLL", YOU PEOPLE SHOULD GO DOWNLOAD IT AND LISTEN TO IT.TODAYS MUSIC IS LIKE THE DISCO SCENE FROM THE 70'S.IT'S ALL ABOUT DANCE, AND LOOKING GOOD.ALREADY IN THE LAST 2 DAYS, I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF PEOPLE ASKING THE QUESTION "IS HIP HOP DYING?"WELL, HISTORY ALWAYS REPEATS ITSELF.EVERY ONE IN THE 70'S THOUGHT DISCO WAS GOING TO KILL ROCK, BUT ROCK LIVED ON.GUESS WHAT?TODAY'S MUSIC IS STARTING TO GO THE WAY DISCO DID, AND ROCK IS STARTING TO RESURFACE.THE ROLLING STONES HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR SOMETHING LIKE 40 YEARS.HOW MANY BANDS FROM THE 90'S ARE STILL AROUND, ONLY A FEW YEARS LATER?JUDAS PRIEST'S LAST SINGLE WAS TITLED "REVOLUTION" YOU BETTER GO AND LISTEN TO IT, TOO.WHY?THE FIRST LINES ARE: "IF YOU THINK IT'S OVER, BETTER THINK AGAIN, THERE'LL BE NO COMPROMISE".DANNY AND THE JUNIORS SAID IT WAY BACK IN THE 50'S - ROCK N ROLL IS HERE TO STAY, IT WILL NEVER DIE.

Why ask the question, when you already have your mind set.

You should keep an open mind, there is alot of new music that is good.
