in some cases they can, it depends on where u work and what field your in,. i worked at best buy for 2 years and was raised up to a pretty good pay rate & then i considered moving to florida, the payscale in florida is different and i would have made like 3 dollars less per hour. good luck.

In many states, employment at will means they can terminate you, change your comp. plans, etc. without justification. That includes the scenario you're discussing in many cases.
Still, only a qualified employment attorney should really be answering that question based on the specifics of your situation.

~~~unfourtunatly yes they can,,,,only if it is your choice to transfer,,,differnt states have different cost of living,,,,Now if your company transfered you,,,,they would have to pay you your current income,,or even more depending on the cost of living where your transfered too,,,,,~~~
