there is a small amount of hope. make sure you leave it off so all of the components can dry out. if you try to turn it on you can burn the parts inside the phone. if it doesn't turn back on after a few days then you need to contact your carrier. i would recommend actually going into the store, not calling. if the phone is less than a year old you may be able to just get a new one. if not, then you will have to buy a new one or hopefully you have insurance on it.

It may be to late for you, but this is what you should have done. I t might still work.
Turn if off and remove the battery imediately to avoid shorting. Then, wash it with fresh tap water. Just leave it there for a while to remove any salts that might short it again or increase corrosion. After you have it competely dried off, you can try it and see if it still works. If every thing goes well, it can still work for about a year or more, untill corosion finally gets to it.

The best idea would be to let it air dry but mostly likely it's chatting/texting days are over.
Water and electronics don't mix even if it was for 2 seconds.
Hopefully you have insurance on it.

I heard that taking out the battery and then duct-taping both the battery and the phone to the inside of the dryer works well in order to dry out electronics....also talk to verizon or cingular or whoever to explain it to them.....hopefully everything works out well, just dont turn on the phone or try to use it before drying it out

leave it alone for a while, let it dry out. Take the battery out etc to help it dry out. It will probably start working once it's all dried out and than put back together. Personally I'd unscrew the bits just to make sure it's dried for the inside out.

yes, do not try to turn it on anymore, let it sit somewhere warm and dry for about a day or two, take it aprt and remove the battery b4 , after it dries thoroughly it should work again unless u fried something on the board by turning it on while wet..

Let dry..take it apart for a day or two. My husband dropped his in the toilet by accident. Still works, but we took it back because we had a warranty.
