I have a dvd player installed on my computer but when i insert my cd it says there is no cd in it...every other regular cd work i can also burn cd's i just can'at play my dvd's on it

yu never mentioned the model of your dvd player. do you mean the software? or is it a dvd drive?

If it's a software you are relating to, you might need to buy a dvd drive.

if it's a dvd drive, i hope it's still under warranty. check your dealer for a possible harware malfunction

Why don't you just use the DVD player to watch DVDs & the CD drive for CDs?

If the dvd is a DVD+ and your dvd drive is a DVD- that is the problem you need a dual format dvd drive to read the disk look what it says on the dvd label + or -

My first question is: Are you SURE it's a DVD player? Does it SAY that on the front of the player?

1.Format of your dvd, vcd, cd is not recognised by your dvd player.
2. Your DVD player is uptodate, it can read several most update formated file only, while your dvd format is old one.
