There is a new computer downstairs, that I use primarily. Last week I shut it off like I alwaise do at night, and the next day I go to turn it on and the power buton lights up aling with all the lights on the tower, but the moniter goes right into powersaving mode and wont show anything. Usually when I turn it on and after it boots up I get that windows start up sound, but ever since this has happened it doesnt do that. What is wrong with my computer?

There is no picture on the moniter at all, and I checked all the connections, including the ones in the computer itself.

check the connection between your video card and the monitor. also check the power connection to your monitor.

I think there is some loose connection behind your Computer

1)Check any of ur Keyboard buttons is pressed down.
1)Go to BIOS and set defaults.
3)Make sure that u don't change any hardware settings if so try reconnecting.
4)Check the power supply

There may be chances of viruses. So take ur harddisk and put it in another system and scan.If it also turns success with no virus.contact ur dealer.
You can also try repairing XP .

Make sure the monitor button is turned on, or that you haven't accidentally touched the contrast button and need to turn it back up.

Good Luck

first thing is try another monitor this will eliminate the monitor as the problem.then check that your video card is seated all the way in the slot. or it could be the power supply.
