No that is incorrect, you got my curiosity going so I looked it up on the web. According to the website I was looking at some butterfly's and moths live only a few days while some species like the Monarch can live 6 to 12 months and migrate thousands of miles

Nope. The Monarch Butterfly migrates hundreds and sometmes thousands of miles in it's lifetime. They do however mate only once before dying (like salmon).

Nah, they won't go through all the trouble to become one just to die 24 hours later.
