also, if you've ever known a graffiti writer, you'd probably notice that they don't tag on people's houses...

Some hoodlums tagged my garage last year and it looked like $h!t.At least they could have drew something neat on it like they do on trains.I guess the town where i live is not known for it's artists.

I watch the trains go down the tracks just to look at the graffiti, some on it is awesome and I always thought if there was a place to put it without destroying property it should be. By the way, I am a 51 year old woman, not a kid so dont think I do graffiti and want it legal for that reason, lol

I agree it should be legal, But not homes. I think if someone wanted to use it for advertising then GREAT. Graffiti can be amazing. I also agree no tagging that is so stupid. They should have scholarships for graffiti artist and shows etc. That would be great for all the unrecognized talent in this world.

Some private places do allow and encourage graffiti, and granted it is in some cases a wonderful medium of espression, but graffiti on the whole is merely an unartistically fueled desire to, well, desicrate something. However, living in an area with alot of historic buidings, I cannot imagine this beauty being wasted because of frustrated teenagers.

I think that some graffiti is cool, and if it were legal, I think there would be grants and comissions for amazing public graffiti art. Graffiti artists should try to one up the other by making their stuff really intense and lovely. the tags are just dumb.

No -- I hate that I paid X amount of money for my home in a really nice neighborhood and in a good part of town, but some wannabe still tags the fence. Pisses me off. Go home and write on your own walls.

Absolutely not.

You can't just go around and spray paint all over someone's property.

Big deal if they don't do it to houses; public buildings and government offices, etc. cost money. Tax-payers money.

I pay taxes. My family pays taxes. I hope you pay taxes. I'm not paying all that money to clean spray paint off of a building.

No, it is defacing of private property, which lowers the value of said property. Make graffiti all you want, on your own property.

On a designated site... sure. But not on highway signs, not on my neighbor's fence, and not just to be rude on the local elementary school.
