Tacky or okay? I would never do a first name, but I really like Rose as a middle name.

I see nothing wrong with choosing the middle name that a cousin has or even the first name. If you like it use it.

I have the same first name as my cousin who was born two weeks later. I don't think it is tacky. My brother was going to name his daughter the same name as my daughter and I felt honored although he picked the name for different reasons.

I chose the same first name for my son that my nephew chose for his son. I spelled it differently and it still causes a tad of confusion, but not enough to make me feel bad about it. The name I chose, truly, was exactly what I wanted. That my nephew got to it first was not an issue between us. I have never felt the least bit guilty about this and neither should you.

I don't see anything wrong with it. My son's middle name is Micheal, the same as my brother's middle name, and several other people in my extended family.

my nephew's middle name is james after his father, my sons middle name is james after his paternal grandfather and my brother just has a son and named him james too. im sure he just had no clue that our sister and i had already named our sons james. we think it's funny and kind of cute. we didnt do it purposely, and we dont expect it to ever affect our children negitively. rite now they think its neat to have the same name.
