Yahoo makes it very easy.
1st If you have WindowsXP, I suggest you create a "system restore point." Then, if anything goes wrong, you can go back to where you were and begin over.
2nd, click on your Yahoo pop-up blocker and click on "enable pop-up blocker."
This will turn this feature off. (Turn it back on when you are finished.)

First u download a yahoo messenger online set up file which is about 400 Kb or less.
Then it starts copying files from the Yahoo server and perform the insatallation.You need an internet connection.
The Yahoo IM 7 (Earlier) is not like that where you can download entire set up file and install without internet connection.
They changed the set up process because many of the Yahoo Set up files supplied offline contains adwares,malicious codes etc that can hack your password,system failure etc...This is done by peoples who need to access other's email id.

just go to yahoo click on messanger hit down load & you have it

go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/ and click on "Get it now" (or download) once it downloads... run the program, it will install on your computer, then enter your yahoo id & password-- and you are done :)
