in neutral and sometimes in park it just turns off? Its a ford explorer 2001 sport 4x4 thanks

Take it to a good repairman. Could be the idle is too slow but more common with newer vehicles it is either a sensor fault or the computer that controls all the engine functions. Pops

It means something apparently is wrong with it so take it to the shop an dhave them take a look cause it could be numerous of things causing it and the answers these people will give you will vary so better safe than sorry.

There is probably a problem in the steering column, electrical in nature. Electrical problems are very hard to figure out. It is best left to a professional.

It sounds like a computer brain thing. If it is intermittent, have the brain checked for a fault code.Your local mechanic will have the little computer to do this.

shhhh. I've been telling my wife that's a feature not a problem on her '98. I'm not even thinking of addressing that problem till they tell me where they hid the speed sensor!

could be the air intake sensor. If its not working your engine will not get enough air and will stall.
