Valentino is still relatively popular. It's still a high fashion magazine staple and all the right models (a very ill-looking Gemma Ward in its current campaign) still pose for its campaigns.
Their FW06 collection is a flood of black and white, very officewear but very beautiful. Some of their eyewear is actually pretty toned down, which is good. I like the neutral-colored ones, especially the black rim and black shades Gemma is wearing in the ad.
It also has a diffusion line called Red Valentino and you can buy it online at Yoox or at Neiman Marcus.

It's still a popular label.
But it wouldn't really matter since it's just a pair of glasses. Most people don't know the difference from one brand to the next on your frames. So many brands make the same, or similar, style that it's hard to keep up.
As long as the lenses are still the right prescription, and the frames are in good shape, you don't need to change your glasses.

If you love your glasses keep em and wear em. Style is about being somewhat different. It gives you a unique edge. Afterall how can you stand out if everyone is the same???????
As for if Valentino is still popular... I don't have any idea. LOL
