I LOVE driving an SUV !!!!
They are so versitile!!!! Roomy. I never have to borrow a vehicle when I buy something big, like a new TV.
I drive a Hybrid Escape, which IS THE most fuel efficient SUV.
Priced starting at about $26g. with low financing available from FMCC. & there are federal & state tax breaks available to Hybrid Owners.
Why on earth Wouldn't I rather drive an SUV ?

An SUV is very nice to drive, but ,I think, it depends on what you are doing for the day as to what kind of vehicle you would want to drive. An SUV would be good for some activities, but a truck might be more help if you needed to haul something or pick up something from a home repair store. A luxury car would be nice for a trip or a fancy evening out. An economy car might be nice for just running around town. So you have to weigh what you are doing for the day to decide which car to drive.

I drive a Chevy Surburbon and love it. I can walk up to it, turn around and sit down. When I want out, I can turn around and step out. With small cars you have SLIDE down into the seat and then CRAWL out. Ok for young folks....not good for seniors.
My Surburban, at 55 mph, gets 21 miles per gallon. Most little cars get around 28-30 mpg (some more). Not worth losing comfort to save 8 or 10 mpg. To buy a high miliage $20K to $30K.....well, I would NEVER make any money and I would lose the confort and cargo space. Pops

I love my SUV. It has plenty of space, but it's little so it gets good gas mileage. It's mostly a safety issue so that if I get hit I don't get crushed by some of the huge vehicles out there.

I have a SUV and been thinking real hard about trading it in on a car. The way gas has been, I wouldn't even consider trading mine if it weren't for the gas price issue.

I have a 96 Nissan Pathfinder. If I go to get a new car. It will be a Pathfinder also. I like the advantages of having 4 doors but the ability of a 4x4.

I'd rather drive a crew cab truck. Because, you have comfort and luxury for passengers,plus plenty of room for cargo.The best of both worlds.
