A few days earlier I got an IM from a person that called himself john_jiffco. I didn't have time to talk to him as I was in the middle of something else on the computer. By the time I could focus on him he had signed off,but had asked me if we could ask each other be on our friends list. I added his name. Today I contacted him and wanted to know how he found me. He replied on a chat room. I informed him I had never been in a chat room ever. He said ok.He kept asking me whati wanted him for and I replied that he was the one who contacted me first and that I wanted to know what he wanted. He said ok. When I asked he told me he was from NY but said he was not in state. I asked and he said he was in west africa on a mission for the school he worked for. He then told me he was stuck there and trying to get back. He then asked if I could help him,I asked how. That is when he hit me up for money. I asked him if his school couldn't help him,he said they did but didn't send enough.I unplugd

You did the right thing. What will these dirt bags think of next. Have you heard about someone coming to your car window as you are about to drive away from a store and hold a five dollar bill or twenty to the window and say "you dropped this." Open your window or car door and you've had it. And it won't be the money.

Wow . Thank god that has not happened to me! I cant believe people are the low to make up silly little stories to try and get money out of hard working individuals. It is a load of crap that a school would send him out there and not have planned ahead for his trip back. I'm sorry and I thank you , now I will be watching out for john_jiffco and lame stories from complete strangers.

I wonder if he wasnt trying to get you online long enough to try and get into your computer, like haking. You know they are always coming up with all kinds of ways to get your personal info.
Next time any one try's to im you, press the ignore button if you dont know them. its always better to be safe than sorry.
