The whole P-ing while someone else watches or is concious of it makes alot of people uncomfortable.
It arrises ideas of sexual depraveness, and other sexual taboos.
I once dated a girl who was so "stick up" (or repressed or traumatised) that although she wouldn'd mind me p-ing in from of her (not for sexual reasons), she couldn't ever bring her own self do to so, even out of ear shot.
I was lucky though because the idea of P-ing in front of someone else never crossed my mind that it could be misinterpreted as a sexual fetish in any way. Many girlfriends felt very comfortable P-ing while I was around or when I was P-ing right next to them.
I also think, in your case, that after 4 years of being with the same person, you should be comfortable enough in your relationship to be able to do such "mundane" things without too much trauma.
I think also it could bring you too closer as a couple; bridging the intimacy level, and therefore strenghthening your relationship as a couple.
So I would suggest you try it, without thinking anything weird of odd about it; it is after all a very natural thing we humans all do, and shouldn't necessarly be viewed as weird or offbeat. I mean some folks burb loudly in public without any consideration for others, so why would relieving yourself in private while your girlfriend is just calmly lounging around be such a huge step?
Give it a shot, there's nothing wrong with that, and who knows? Maybe your girlfriend and you will actually become closer on an intimate level!

The answer to that is simple and it is that if you feel that you are not fully ready thus you feel pruessured in to it then simply tell her that you do not feel that you are not in that spot in your Relationship as of yet and you would like for her to give it a little or more time thus you will let her know when you are ready and comfortable enough to go that far ---Note: You must be totaly & Compleatly honest with her and she has to show the same thing to you as well as being truthfull and if she is only in it for the one thing to where she can do that with any other person then she is not for you at all She must be understanding and so should you as well or you both do not have a real relationship at all.

ONLY four years? sweetie its mine and my boyfriends 11 month anniverary today and ive seen him pee, dont be scared, its a human function, some girls just find it amusing to see how guys do so.
