Ironman vs. Superman. Who would win and why.?

Ironman. Well let's see... we have "The Man of Steal" vs. a guy wearing an iron suit. At first everyone will say Superman, but I think Ironman would win and here's why:

Superman

Powers and abilities: Super strength, super hearing, super speed, eye laser, icy breath, flight, X-ray vision

Intelligence: Above average

Ironman

Powers and abilities: Super strength, incredible speed, dozens of weapons of mass destruction

Intelligence: Genius level

You see, this fight will be incredible, and very exciting to watch since both of them are so equaly matched. However, in the Ironman will win, but only because he is more smart then Superman and will find a way to win.

Of course, the easiest way would be to create a suit made with Krypton in or or simply create a special weapon that can shoot out kryptonide gas or rays. However, I think Ironman would rather decide to fight Superman the normal way then use kryptonide. Now people will say that Superman will just rip off Ironman's siut, but those people don't know that depending on the siut, Ironman's powers defer. As a matter of fact, Ironman has a siut for batteling against The Hulk and gives him strenght to lift 100+ tons, which puts him in the same category as Superman.

Now, if I remember correctly, Lex Luthor had robots, Ironman type, that went and faught Superman and gave him a very hard time. Still Superman won in the end since he's the start of the show and the robots weren't built by Tony Stark, only the second most intelligent person in the whole Marvel Universe. Tony will just build a siut that will match Superman's strenght and speed and weapons to match Superman's powers. And because of that, I believe that Tony can come up with enough weapons and powerfull enough to defeat Superman, not destroy him, but defeat him.

I am a huge ironman fan, but let's be honest he would more than likely lose. For one superman is way stronger than him. If superman can stand his ground against doomsday, who is way stronger than superman already, Superman wins in the strength category. In speed, superman also wins. Superman can just barely keep up with the flash and he knows he couldn't beat the flash in a race.
Ironman does have gadgets but I'm sure most of superman's superpowers would cancel them out. All I can see ironman having an advantage over superman is in intelligence, but superman is no stranger to fighting someone close to Tony's IQ. He fought Batman. That is what I have to say on that.

Iron Man would win *ONLY* if he could figure out a way to keep Supes at an extreme distance and zap away at him with repulsor rays etc all day long (good luck, given Supes' speed, flight, etc.) One single punch from Superman and his armor would be lying in pieces all around him, and then he's just a normal guy with a heart condition...

Mind you, given *ANY* time to plan, Iron Man would probably take it, and pretty quickly. (He'd be stupid not to!) For example, he could just do a very rapid flyby and drop a kryptonite necklace over the Man of Steel. He'd never stand up to him punch for punch in a standard fight, though; his powered suit makes him strong but not *that* strong. Chris D however was smart to think of the kryptonite armor... it's definitely something TOny Stark would consider, and could easily but together if he can only find enough kryptonite... He'd need that kind of "neutralizer" though. (And Batman would, even more so--and would have a h*** of a time beating the combination of Stark's smarts and suit!--just in case anyone asks!)

Iron man has no way of winning here, if he is in a normal suit eg Mk 46 then Superman destroys him in seconds, he's strong enough to tear Tony's armour from his body without even trying, plus nothing Tony has will hurt Superman.
Even if Tony is in his Hulk buster suit, Superman still destroys him, the Hulk buster levels Hulk's strength, yet Superman is known to be stronger and more durable than the Hulk
Hulkbuster = Hulk
Hulk < Thanos
Thanos = Darkseid
Darkseid < Doomsday
Doomsday = Superman
Simple. The only possible thing Tony can do that will even touch Superman is (with weeks of prep and knowledge of Superman's weakness) is to manage to get his hands on some kryptonite and possibly use it in his strongest suit of armour, but even then (by the laws of fair fighting) you have to give Superman equal amount of prep and knowledge in which he'll sun dip himself and make himself so powerful that he'll be basically immune to even the highest amounts of Kryptonite... Superman wins.

iron man s suit can learn to predict the opponents moves and can survive nuclear bombs and with his model-prime armour and the other armour he has (created with some kind of alien) which can absorb energy and release it with enough power to bypass abilities of beings able to absorb energy im pretty sure he can hold his own in such a fight

superman can go faster than the speed of light destroy galaxies and sneeze out hurricanes.He has impacted the ground with so much energy so as to cause natural calamities all over the Earth, THEN HE JUST STANDS UP AFTERWARDS MORE PISSED OFF THAN EVER.

I am an iron man fan but at full power super man is just the most OP hero there is.

If iron man gets a second chance he could easily get hold of kryptonite and superman doesn t stand a chance

So in conclusion it just depends on whether iron man can survive the first battle

Ironman , why u ask well we all know tht iron man`s suit can tell the enemies weakness
BUT superman is an alien so its even but IF they were both in marvel OR Dc then ironman would
already know what is kryptonite , just like batman.. Even tho iron man isnt more richer than batman,
he can still afford kryptonite ! so.. i guess the winner of this is iron man, GENIUS WINS!

In the Avengers Thor crushed iron mans armor like a can Superman could easily do that too and he has lazer beam eyes which would cut right through him and he is faster and stronger. The only thing iron man would do it hit him with a few pulsion beams or whatever and Superman dodge them eventually and would rip open his suit like a tin can and pull Tony Stark out of there.

Almost certainly Superman.

Superman's near invincibility and strength is a supreme mis-match for iron man.

The only way Iron Man could win would be through Tony Tark's superior inteligence and if he used this intelligence to develop a synthetic kryptonite (or obtain true kryptonite) and utilized this as a weopon against Superman.

I seem to recall a last chance, doomsday weopon option that Iron man had, but it was merely a nuclear weopon and I believe it could take out Superman, it would surely kill Iron Man as well and cause countless casualties.

Also, looking at the history of Superman, he has sucessfully counter attacks with kryptonite before, so even if Stark had access to it, its not a guarentee of victory.

now, this is assuming that this is a fight that you want to know who would win.

If it were a drinking contest, surely Tony Stark would win hands down, if he fell off the wagon again.
