I have Cingular and i love it. I drive a truck for a living and i rarely have problems with signal what so ever. Customer service is great as well. I have never had an issue. I switched over to Verizon for about 3 weeks a few months back and it was horrible. Dropped calls all the time, No signal alot of places that cingular had service. Ive heard good things about Verizon but when i switched it was a very bad move. Even around my home area it wasn't that great either. I recommend Cingular all the way.

I have been with both, and liked them both. I have spent over a year with both of them, traveled across the country, and never had a real problem with either dropped calls, or roaming. Then again we are talking about the phone company, so here are a few negatives.
Verizon - Signal is not as strong as Cingular. Cingular really does have more bars in more places.
Cingular - Recently moved to an area that doesn't have Cingular service. The phone still works fine because they have a deal set up with other carriers to use their lines. BUT!!! We can't get a local number, and they won't let us out of our contract. We have technically been roaming for about 3 months. We haven't been charged for the roaming, so that isn't an issue, but anyone around here who wants to call us is charged long distance charges unless they call from a cell phone.
But still, either company is fine. Just figure out what your needs are, and ask questions before you decide.

Verizon is definitely better in most areas comparing coverage. Cingular is a GSM carrier and your phone can be used even if you visit other countries. If you unlock the phone then you can change the SIM and use the service there. Good for international travellers.
If you are considering the Cingular then consider T-mobile also. According to me, T-mobile have better service and same coverage. Again T-mobile unlocks your phone without any problems. However T-mobile does not have very good selection of phones.

I have Verizon and get reception EVERYWHERE. I live in New Hampshire, and I even get reception up in the mountains at our camp in the middle of nowhere, where there's no electricity, or anything. And I was very happy when I went to Walt Disney World three weeks ago. I got reception everywhere, from my Resort, to the monorail, to the Parks, and every restaurant, attraction, and bathroom stall. I love Verizon.
I'm also on the shared plan with my boyfriend.

sprint/Nextel are the comparable enterprise. (THEY SUCK!!!!) T-cellular in all fairness first cost. (super provider on circumstance which you reside in a important city) Verizon is physically powerful yet severe priced. Cingular is rather solid, solid plans super provider and rollover minutes. all of them look to have solid plans even nonetheless the provider varies. purely you will possibly desire to pass with which provider you choose

They both have historically, been bad at correct billing.
Try T Mobile, although it seems Sprint provides the best reception and clarity.
