I see what you're saying, I'm a teen and I can't stand how dumb some students in my school can be when it comes to certain things. And I've noticed things too from teens who do drugs and can't notice things in textbooks that are right in front of them. It's sad, but that portion of the stupid teens is a very small one.

HEY! Teens are not stupid. No one is. Its just that teens try to make it easier when they type on the internet. But when in school or doing a report, of course they spell the words right and make it as best as they can.

Because their priorities are not in learning, but rather in having fun. They do not think that their teenage years will ever end; they think that their parents will take care of them for the rest of their lives; they have had their minds polluted by rap music, and further destroyed by drugs and alcohol. I see the way they dress and I have to wonder if they buy their clothes at Goodwill. All I can say is that if our young people don't wise up and get smart, the future of our nation is in jeopardy. The Democrats want a nation of simpletons who can't read their high-school diplomas, let alone the Constitution. Having that, laws that violate all sorts of freedoms can be forced down our throats and no one will know the wiser.

I'm sure you meant to say;

Why are teens today so stupid? None of them can spell. And that is even if they try to spell it out. It's horrible.

I resent that. I WON my Spelling Bee and have a 4.0 thank you very much and its NOT the parents fault's stop blaming them. There are many things which have an influence on teenagers these days. Such as the Internet. All of the weird spelling on there is crazy and the Internet also preoccupies them consequently keeping us away from our studies. Basically. I blame the Internet.... So stop dissing us and find something else to b**** about please...

Combination of bad parenting, overworked spending no time with the kids, letting TV and iphones be babysitters, Media being so oversaturated and thrown in their faces everyday and everything is simple with no depth. Kids cant go further than the exterior of things. Its really bad. 12 year olds walking over 1/4 mile down at their phone and not looking up at all. That kind of addiction scares me

Well the media has a great role to play. Look at Hollywood. A lot of teen actors and actresses are out of control; from drinking heavily to smoking crack and marijuana. And teens think of them as their role model. Also by looking at them they think that they are smarter than their parents. Thats why teens are stupid. Well not all of them but a big percentage is.

Are you a teacher? It can be frustrating. Be patient with them. Show them the ART of spelling. Encouragement & motivation will help too. Being frustrated doesn't. Turn your energy from frustration to encouragement & motivation.

Are you just an individual? Teenagers are still in the process of learning. Let them be. They'll learn from their mistakes, I hope. They'll know when they get their test / exam results. There's always spell checks for them *HINT to teenagers*

To teenagers out there, it's good to spell correctly. To help people understand you better. Occassional spelling mistake is excusable. If it's for fun, it's ok so long within limits.
