Musiciansfriend or a pawn shop would be a great place to find a cheap guitar. As for the parents, convince them that musicians have a higher rate of learning and are less likely to be stressed.

Inoticed that Target is selling guitars now. I think the price was around $200 to $250. That might be too much for you to start with. Look in the classified ads under musical instruments and see if you can find one that someone is selling. When you are shopping try to stop by a music store and see if they have a "starter" type guitar cheap. The other idea is talk to the music teacher at school and see if they have any ideas how you could get a guitar.

The cheapest place is walmart, ebay, or a pawn shop. Also talk to guitar teachers in your city. Most of them have lots of guitars and may want to get rid of one. Musicians friend is a great site for good prices too.

A pawn shop will usually have cheap guitars or try a second hand shop.

DUDE, save your allowance!!!! it adds up, believe it or not, it adds up!!!!

You can find a cheap quality low priced quitar in walmart.

Garage sales, moving sales, craigslist.com

Check your local pawn shops, sometimes they have cool stuff. A decen quality used quitar is better than a shiny new made in china piece of crap...if you get sick of it, it will have some resale value, the made in china thing is firewood

How about renting one online or at a local music store? Good alternative to buying a brand spanking new one.
