Yes.
There are so many insensitive jerks out there ready to insult them and point out every bad feature on people, that it's hard to ignore it. While they may be comfortable with their reflection in the mirror, the minute they walk out the door, there is always someone there to put them down. You can't grow up in a modern school system without being picked on by others. If you hear the same thing enough, you start to believe it. As time goes by, they may get used to the remarks and start to ignore them, but I'm sure most people have a hard time letting it go. Even after they are an adult.
It's the same for the beautiful people. They hear enough compliments, get enough dates, have enough people hitting on them, etc... they eventually believe it, even if they don't think that they are beautiful.
A person knows what they look like in anothers eyes because there is never a shortage of people to tell them what they think. Even if they don't agree with the opinion, they still know that the person, or people, see them that way.

Unless the ugly person is retarded, I'm sure they know that they are ugly...Actions from other people who look at an ugly person would certainly make them feel that they are ugly...Some people feel ugly when they have only one feature that they don't like, which is why plastic surgery is so popular, today...I had a big nose and until I had it fixed, I felt ugly...Teasing from a boy in my church didn't help matters...There's a saying that goes like this: "beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes clear to the bone"

Who decides if they are ugly? What's ugly to one person may be beautiful to someone else. So how are they supposed to know if they are ugly if beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. My answer may not make any sense right now because I'm a little buzzed. Later dude!

Yeah, I think they do. Cause I think most cute people know they are cute and we all kind of have some idea of how we look compared to others. They may not know exactly how ugly they are. They may think they are more or less ugly than they truly are, but some pretty people are the same way, they either think they are way cuter, or don't know how good looking they are.

Umm...rude? Nobody is ugly...the only way that anyone could actually BE ugly is if they TRIED....people that others call ugly will either just be happy with who they are or try and correct what you call ugly. THEY ARE NOT UGLY!

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. what you may find ugly, others may find beautiful and vice versa. beauty also isn't what is just outside, it's what's inside that counts most. you can have the most beautiful person in the world on the outside, and they could be the ugliest on the inside.
