Will two pairs of shoes last longer if you wear alternating pairs each day? Or will they last longer if you wear one pair until it wears out and then the other pair until it wears out?

It takes about the same amount to time to go through both pairs either way, but you will get a longer life out of the individual pair if worn only every other day.
If it takes 6 months to wear out a pair of shoes, then you would go through 2 pairs a year. If you alternated the 2 pairs, you would have them both for the whole year. It gives you a choice of shoes to wear each day, instead of being stuck in the same pair day after day.

I believe so. I tend to do the latter though, lol ^_^
Guess it's a weird trait of mine to wear out the pairs that I like the least but is very practical for daily use & save the other pair for special occasions.
Regardless, it all boils down to the quality & make of the pair of shoe in question.
If it's well-made, it's probably going to last you a while compared to that of a cheaper pair.

This question almost makes my brain hurt. x.o;

Either way would work. I alternate through about... 30+ pairs of shoes depending on what goes with an outfit. I haven't thrown a pair away in 5 years. (Side note- Vans make great work shoes. Had mine for two years and they're still going strong)

I alternate between 30 pairs and I never get tired of my shoes. They also have a chance for the sweat to dry out. As much as we would all like to think our feet don't sweat they do. In order for your shoes to not stink they need to dry out. Any way I hope that helps.

Try having one pair of each type of shoe: casual, work, dress, sandal, heel, tennis shoes and wear them according to what they are for. I havent thrown a pair of shoes away since.........5 years ago.

It really all depends on the make of the shoe, style of the shoe, and quality. Overall, I do not think this will do much to prolonging the life of your shoes--it is more hassle and thought than a topic like this really deserves...just wear whichever one day to day that goes with your outfit and don't think about it! :)
