AAAAAAAAAHHHH!! DO NOT use Listerine! It kills the good bacteria in your mouth and dries it out. Use sea salt and water instead. 4 teaspoons per gallon, swish it about for 30 seconds. OK, now that that is out of the way, try pudding, soup, ice cream, mashed potatoes, etc. Softy foods. When I had my tongue done, I ate real food within a week. Well, with the exception of crunchy, pointy stuff.

I had my pierced at the beginning of summer. I tried fries my first day and cried. :P I stocked up on ramen, and though slirping does hurt, it's tons easier! So, soups and ramen are probably best until you regain confidence. Trust me, it does go away! I forget that I even have a tongue ring.
Oh! Almost forgot... Use listerine like a bad habit! An infected tongue is the last thing you want.

medical-wise it won't harm you to eat normal food it will just hurt like hell. I had my tounge pierced and i was eating subway the next afternoon. just remember to keep rinsing your mouth out with the regular listerine not the ment or the other better tasting mouthwash. But yeah normal food will hurt for about three days. eat crushed ice and slushies to numb the pain.

Well I have my done twice and what I ate to fill me up was soup and crunched up crackers in the soup, pudding, applesauce, popsicles, anything w/ a liquid base. I couldn't eat one single solid food, but found out by eating soup filled me up. Suck on lots of ice to reduce swelling and try eating something solid. good luck ~<:O) and be sure to clean it after every meal yes everymeal....

eating salads was very difficult for me, along with anything tart or citrusy
I would really change to the shorter bar as soon as you can -- it is more comfortable & you don't seem to bite it as often
be careful of the temptation to run the ball on your teeth, that will damage your tooth enamel
good luck - I have had mine for 7 yrs and still love it

Duh, of course it does. Eat soft foods for a few days and then gradually work up to your "normal" food.
